What are Airline Packs?
Liveries let you change how your aircraft looks, both inside and out, but there are a few things they can't affect. Airline Packs enable you to further customise you aircraft.
An Airline Pack lets you change the boarding music and cabin announcements, plus the wallpaper on the EFB and the screensaver on the FAP. So if you're flying for a particular airline, the cabin can sound and look the part too, not just the paint job.
Any boarding music tracks or prerecorded announcements included in the pack will show up on the FAP Audio page, where you (or the Virtual Purser) can play them during your flight.
Installation
The aircraft comes with a default Fenix Airline Pack. If you'd like to install custom packs, you'll need to put them in this location:
[Your Community Folder]\[Your Announcements Folder]\AirlinePacks\
[Your Community Folder] is the path to your community folder. The exact path depends on the platform which you used to install MSFS:
-
Microsoft Store / Xbox App (Game Pass)
MSFS 2020:%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
MSFS 2024:%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community Steam
MSFS 2020:%APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community
MSFS 2024:%APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages\Community
[Your Announcements Folder] is a folder of your choice where you want to keep your Airline Packs. Feel free to choose any name you like, for example fnx-airline-packs. We recommend to use a dedicated folder for your packs, instead of installing them in any product-related folder (such as fnx-aircraft-a32x-common, or fnx-aircraft-320) as they may interfere with the update process.
Airline Packs usually come as a single folder named after airline ICAO code they are for. If installed correctly, your announcements folder should like this:
It's important to make sure that the ICAO code of the pack matches what you expect, as it'll be activated only if your callsign or livery agree with it exactly. If you flight/livery doesn't match any installed Airline Pack, the default Fenix pack will be used.
You can change which Airline Pack is chosen for a livery by editing its livery.cfg file. Add or change icao_airline entry to match the ICAO of the pack you want to use (e.g. icao_airline="FNX").

Frequently Asked Questions
I can't hear any cabin announcement
Cabin audio is generated by a background process called Fenix.GqlGateway. Check your volume mixer (System Settings > Sound > Volume mixer) and make sure it's not muted:
Cabin audio is also muted by default, if your simulated is not focused (e.g. you ALT-TAB-ed to another window). You can change that in the settings app, so cabin audio is always audible:
I can't hear cabin announcements in the cockpit
Cabin announcements are played via speakers in the cabin. In order to hear them you need to either:
- Open the cockpit door - it'll let some sound through
- Walk into the cabin in walkaround mode
-
Listen to PA channel on the ACP (Audio Control Panel) - turning the knob will control the volume
Virtual Purser is not calling when ready for takeoff/landing
Cabin ready calls can be disabled via the settings app - make sure they are enabled if you want to receive them:
You also won't receive any calls from the cabin if your active Airline Pack doesn't contain appropriate announcement (CabinSecured).
Keep in mind that the Virtual Purser can sometimes take a long time to secure the cabin for takeoff or landing, so the call make come surprisingly late.
How to change cabin announcements audio device?
If you'd like the cabin announcements to be played via specific audio device, instead of your default audio device, look for Fenix.GqlGateway in your sound mix options - this is the background process responsible for generating cabin audio.
Where can I find custom Airline Packs?
We only provide a generic pack with the aircraft. We are unable to allow the distribution of cabin announcements as it's impossible for us to ensure that they do not contain copyrighted content.
Feel free to create your own pack, or search any online community forums for packs authored by other users.
